The County of Lambton, of which Sarnia is the principal city, is bounded on the North and West by the crystal blue waters of Lake Huron and the St. Clair River. Hence, the name, “Bluewater Country”.

It is a community with a total county population of approximately 130,000. The primary industry is petrochemical, with production and distribution on a worldwide scale and the second industry, agriculture, which flourishes in Lambton’s loamy soils.

Sarnia-Lambton boasts a number of parks and nature preserves, including the Pinery Provincial Park on Lake Huron, Canatara and Centennial Parks on Lake Huron and the St. Clair River respectively and both being within the Sarnia city limits. In addition, there are a large number of inland and waterfront parks under the administrations of the St. Clair Parkway Authority and the Ausable-Bayfield Conservation Authority.
